There are many grants available for university-industry collaborations. Click here for an overview of the major grants MECH faculty can access. Depending on your situation, your faculty collaborator will advise you on the most appropriate grants, and lead the grant application process.
The University-Industry Liaison Office (UILO) handles the formalization of research collaborations. Once a potential collaboration has been identified, your faculty collaborator will start the process to draw up a research agreement between the university and your company, tailored to your specific situation.
The UBC Engineering Co-op program matches students from all engineering disciplines with employers for 4-, 8-, 12- and 16-month work terms. All co-op placements are paid positions: funding may be available through various sources. Click here for more information on hiring students.
